Les derniers jours

Hi everyone.

As you can see on the pictures, I now have made it all the way to Toulouse. After staying at Benoit's place for a night and after a lovely BBQ at his friend's place, on Sunday I went to the airport where Paul and Sabine just arrived from a trip.
So, today is the day to fly back to Hamburg.

Would I recommend someone to to the same trip? Yes, on an e-bike. ;-)

Day 21 - Canal du Midi - CARCASSONE - VILLEFRANCHE DE LAURAGAIS

From Toulouse we once went to Carcassonne in one day. But that with wind from the back and without luggage. Not so this time, so I stopped 40km before the main station of Toulouse, my final destination of the trip...

Day 20 - The Canal du Midi. ARGELIERS - Carcassonne

So many pictures today. That's just because I love "La cité de Carcassonne" so much. Especially the Cassoullet they have there. Yummmmyyy!
75kms against 35km/h. Guys, I am tired now, g'nite...

Day 19 - The Canal du Midi. ADGE - ARGELIERS

The Canal du Midi.

A masterpiece of engeneering arts. Built in the 17th century, this waterway connects the Mediterranean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean. For centuries it was THE transport way for the people in the rwgion until the invention of the railway made it basically useless for this purpose.
Still maintained is now is still a fantastic route for ships and cyclists like me.
Two amazing parts of today's ride:
- The Bridge of the canal over the river Orb
- The 9 stage "ecluses" which enables boats to climb up and down a mountain near Beziers.

Unfortunately the weather became quite moody. I now have winds between 30 and 40km/h straight from the front which will not change much before the weekend. Good that I still have plenty of time until I want to be in Toulouse on Saturday...

Day 18 - Another day in La Franqui

Just another relaxed holiday in La Franqui. I went to Leucate on the bike and had myself a nice day at the beach over there. Went back the short way over the rock and had a fantastic view over the magic place.

Day 17 - Tres Tranquile Jour

Monday and Tueaday will be relaxed aimple holidays. At least I did what I always wanted to do: I went on the little hiking trail from La Franqui around the cape to the beaches of Leucate.
